Tawfeeq Initiative 2026
The Mauritania Foundation is launching an urgent appeal as part of our Ramadan Tawfeeq Initiative to raise funds for Darassalaam School and support the poor and needy. Donations will help provide clean water, school supplies, teacher salaries, and essential aid to those in need. Give generously this Ramadan to make a lasting impact! Our goal is to gather $100,000 to pay for:
Priority of Knowledge and Supporting the Students
We aim to raise $60,000 to support 120 students for a year, covering food, supplies, clothing, and other essentials at about $40 per month per student. قالت ام المؤمنين عائشة رضى الله تعلى عنها لو كانت لى صدقة وطالب العلم بالمغرب لبعثت بها اليه A’isha, the mother of the believers, may Allah be pleased with her, said, “If I had sadaqa and a student of knowledge in the furthest western Muslim lands, I would have sent it to him.” رَسُول اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ مَنْ سَلَكَ طَرِيقًا يَطْلُبُ فِيهِ عِلْمًا سَلَكَ اللَّهُ بِهِ طَرِيقًا مِنْ طُرُقِ الْجَنَّةِ وَإِنَّ الْمَلاَئِكَةَ لَتَضَعُ أَجْنِحَتَهَا رِضًا لِطَالِبِ الْعِلْمِ وَإِنَّ الْعَالِمَ لَيَسْتَغْفِرُ لَهُ مَنْ فِي السَّمَوَاتِ وَمَنْ فِي الأَرْضِ وَالْحِيتَانُ فِي جَوْفِ الْمَاءِ وَإِنَّ فَضْلَ الْعَالِمِ عَلَى الْعَابِدِ كَفَضْلِ الْقَمَرِ لَيْلَةَ الْبَدْرِ عَلَى سَائِرِ الْكَوَاكِبِ وَإِنَّ الْعُلَمَاءَ وَرَثَةُ الأَنْبِيَاءِ وَإِنَّ الأَنْبِيَاءَ لَمْ يُوَرِّثُوا دِينَارًا وَلاَ دِرْهَمًا وَرَّثُوا الْعِلْمَ فَمَنْ أَخَذَهُ أَخَذَ بِحَظٍّ وَافِرٍ The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "If anyone travels on a road in search of knowledge, Allah will cause him to travel on one of the roads of Paradise. The angels will lower their wings in their great pleasure with one who seeks knowledge, the inhabitants of the heavens and the Earth and the fish in the deep waters will ask forgiveness for the learned man. The superiority of the learned man over the devout worshipper is like that of the moon, on the night when it is full, over the rest of the stars. The learned are the heirs of the Prophets, and the Prophets leave neither dinar nor dirham, leaving only knowledge, and he who takes it takes an abundant portion." 
Poor and Needy
The Mauritania Foundation has long been a pillar in the community, a trusted source of support for the poor and needy who seek help. We are working to raise $40,000 to provide essential aid for those in need, including food, clothing, and basic necessities, ensuring they have the resources to live with dignity and hope. 
How Can You Help?
For those who can donate and work in companies, companies will occasionally match the donation. Since Mauritian Foundation is a 501(c)(3) organization, it is tax deductible and thus feasible for company matching. If you cannot donate directly, no worries – we all act according to our intentions and means.
