Water Wells/Well Pumps

Picture

UPDATE: Alhamdulillah, We were fortunate to get a discounted price of $2,200 and were able to raise the money needed for diagnosis and repair for the well of Murabit al Hajj. Jazakullahukhairan for the help!
Current Project: Wad Jamal🚰

Specifications
InshAllah, the well that will be built will be a 100-meter deep well, (deeper than a football field!). We will also construct an electrical plumbing system and a water tower to distribute the water amongst 200 families, livestock, and farming.

The two building constraints that have increased the cost of the project are transporting all of the construction equipment (including tractors, material, piping etc.) to the village and building material shortages.
Location
The location of Wad Jamal makes transportation difficult because it is located in an extremely remote area that is a couple of hours of driving away from any paved road; additionally, the village is on top of a mountain. Construction teams will have to travel off-road on difficult mountainous terrain, while transporting the tractors and building material.

The other constraint of building material shortages in Mauritania due to Covid-19 supply chain shortages has caused the prices of building material and all other goods to sky rocket.

Price Rises
Last year, completing this project would have cost $30,000. However, we were only able to raise about $15,000 and the supply chain shortages have caused the price of the well to become $50,000. Let’s all work hard to raise the remaining $35,000 to get this project completed as soon as possible.
