The Foundation for Mauritanian Relief and Development is currently accepting Zakat al Maal for distribution to those in Mauritania that meet the conditions to receive it. Zakat is obligatory for every free Muslim who meets the requirements in regards to their stored wealth accumulated over a period of 1 year.

It is also helpful to know that you should not delay paying your Zakat until the end of Ramadan. When your wealth meets the necessary requirements, your Zakat is due immediately. For those who qualify to give their Zakat at this time, the people of Mauritania are in much need of you purifying your wealth by using the Foundation as a vessel to distribute your Zakat payments.
